Tess and Sovann's intimate and cosmopolitan wedding at Château de Santeny

In 2014, I met Miriam in a hostel in southern Mexico. Two travellers chatting for a few hours, her at home, me on the other side of the world, never imagining our paths would cross again more than ten years later… under rather unexpected circumstances.
In 2025, she reached out to me. She remembered meeting a French wedding photographer. Her best friend was getting married in Paris. We instantly clicked, and I couldn’t have been happier about this unlikely twist of fate.
Tess and Sovann’s story also began with a journey. A trip to Thailand brought them together. The rest happened naturally, and before long, Sovann had left France to join Tess… in Australia.
And if travelling had already changed their lives, why not cross the world to get married? They made it happen with an intimate château wedding, surrounded by family, childhood friends from France, and their closest people, some of whom travelled nearly 15,000 kilometres to celebrate with them.
The tone was set from the very beginning: endless laughter, a bridal party completely up for every crazy idea I suggested, a first look they had been counting down to, a humanist ceremony sealed with a shot of vodka, and two people who never lost their childlike sense of fun for a single moment.
When a wedding is this full of life, my job is mostly about being in the right place at the right time. And with a couple this photogenic, my Fuji couldn’t resist creating a few editorial-style images too. Because you can love photographs that feel alive… and photographs that simply look incredible.
